The romanesque church at Temniac, near Sarlat in the Dordogne, SW France, clings to the steep hillside.

Following the miraculous intervention of ND de Temniac at the time of the plague in Sarlat, a pilgrimage has taken place here every year the Monday of Pentacost, as well as on 8th September.

The underground crypt is approached by two sets of stone steps under the east end of the church.

Although the present madonna in the church is no longer black, Temniac is thought by some to have perhaps once been a black madonna site.

Nearby are the holy wells and shrines of ND de Fonpeyrine and Redon Espic.
