Le Rat
The pilgrimage chapel at Le Rat is approached by a long ceremonial way lined with stone walls and tall trees. A huge bell hangs in the tower. The stone cross is perched atop the original sacred rock of immense geomantic power. The adjacent megalith contains a perfectly-formed circular rock basin. The chapel is partially constructed in the cyclopian stone technique similar to that used in South America. The chapel at Vieux Breuil is also constructed using the cyclopian stone technique. Nearby are Lac Vassivière, les Pierres Jaumatres, La Rigole du Diable and les Rochers du Diable.
