Le Fraisse

Le site de la Fraisse is a sacred mountain near to Bort les Orgues on the Correze / Cantal border, France.

A spiral track leads to the summit from where there are stupendous views all around the Limousin and Auvergne. The site has been christianised with a tall wooden cross surmounted by a cockerel - symbol of the gallic nation.

Nearby the Chateau de Val overlooks the lake formed by the damming of the Dordogne river above Bort les Orgues.
