Les Eyzies

The cliffs which surround Les Eyzies in the Dordogne, France, are peppered with "grottes" - huge underground caverns, some of which are decorated with prehistoric paintings and carvings. Others have magnificent stalacmites and stalactites. The surrounding area is known as the "Cradle of Humanity".

The breathtaking view from this grotte overlooks the Vézère river which joins the greater river Dordogne just a few miles further downstream.

Nearby is the Roc Goudron, a rock outcrop above the cliff - a power spot of legend, amid atmospheric forest
