L'allée couverte de Blanc is just 4km S of Beaumont at Nojals in the Dordogne region of SW France. Legend claims that a shepherd caught in a storm was aided by the holy virgin Mary who raised the stones around herself to protect him.

Set on a gently prominent hilltop it is a favourite haunt of lizards and grass snakes.

Close-by is the dolmen de la Peyre Negre and the tiny shrine to the madonna at Nausannes.
