Legend tell us that La Sainte Vierge and St Cloud (Grandson of Clovis) passed through the Périgord in search of two churches where they could offer their services of "dedication". They came upon the churches of Châtres and Badefols d'Ans, which are now dedicated to La Sainte Vierge and St Cloud respectively.

The pilgrimage of La Sainte Vierge at Châtres takes place on September 8th, that of St Cloud at Badefols d'Ans on the following Sunday (nowadays a Messe only).
