Beynac
Beynac, counted amongst the most beautiful villages of France, sits beside the river Dordogne.
It's imposing fortress is built on a limestone cliff where medieval limestone cottages and cobbled alleys cling precariously.
The mighty Dordogne river rises as a tiny stream on Mont Dore in the Auvergne region of central France. Passing through many
varying kinds of landscape and countless gorges it soon becomes a major waterway which once served as a vital means of
transport and communication for sw France. Picture Gallery optimised for Internet Explorer & Netscape 5 and above.
