Barrage de l'Aigle

 

Situated in the gorges of the river Dordogne, on the border of the Cantal and Correze departments, W of Mauriac.

The mighty river Dordogne rises as a tiny stream on Mont Dore in the Auvergne region of central France. Passing through many varying kinds of landscape and countless gorges it soon becomes a major waterway which once served as a vital means of transport and communication for central western France.
