Roc Branlante

Roc Branlante
When we visited the Roc Branlante at St Estèphe, near Nontron in the Dordogne, SW France it was blocked by a tree that had fallen in the great storm of 26th December 1999. Until that time it was well frequented by pilgrims who would place a coin below the stone, then withdraw the bent coin after the
logan had been rocked upon it.

The cubic form of the Roc Branlant is similar to that of la pierre branlante de Boscartus a little further north.

Closeby is Le Roc Poperdu
